Blues'

Lyrics by Wilton. Music by Dittrich, Wilton, and Powell. Arranged by Dwarf Nebula.

Tired and feeling the weight of my burdens
Dragged my heels. Stumbled into this blue garden
Blue waterfalls pooling sapphire below
Blue thorny stem rising to azure rose
Checking my vision for doubting my site
Bluebird came tumbling to me out of night
Rose before me, an indigo woman,
Offering peace, a comfort so human
Offering a song, which I took as my own
Offering me a home, here in these bones.

And this is what she said to me:

Chorus:

Surrender your load. Cast off all your cares.
Let go of the failure that each success dares.
Be true to your spirit; Be true and be kind.
Let everything else float out of your mind.

Trust in the world but be mindful of Furies.
Invest in hope. You forget all your worries.
Breathe in the love of all that’s created.
See through the mind’s eye as it’s dilated.

Woke up what seemed an eternity later
Still in that place ‘midst cerulean gators
And lizards of navy, banded by sky
And me not daring to care as to why
Beetles of turquoise bay’n at the moon
Teal lichen and even the stones start to croon
And I’m pleasantly lost in a feast of my senses
Having been stripped bare of all my defenses
‘Til my lady come to me, covered in hues
Suggesting more than just a touch of the blues

Bridge:

I had always thought that the blues were a state of mind.
We share in our troubles so that we can leave them behind.
Now I know the blues are a place
A little closer in than Drums and Space
Tensions there just happen to unwind

We danced and we laughed. We rolled and we tumbled
Clicked our heels in the air, we fondled and fumbled
‘Til there was no distance between us at all
We soared. And just when I thought we would fall
We came down so gently as if on a cloud
Of blue grass on which we could fiddle aloud
Our blue notes we’d scribbled dispersed in the air
For all of life’s woes I had not a care
‘Til I drifted into almost blue, kinda blue
Turned and said "Stella, when can I see you?

(Chorus->Bridge)
